Our Story

How it All Started...

In 2021, a small group of friends in Tampa Florida came together around a simple but powerful idea: combine their shared love for soccer with their desire to serve the community they call home. What began as casual weekend games soon grew into something larger—a space where people of different backgrounds, professions, and experiences could connect, support one another, and make a positive impact.

These friends, many of whom are U.S. citizens and permanent residents of Cameroonian heritage, discovered that soccer was more than just a game for them—it was a bridge. It bridged generations, cultures, and neighborhoods, creating an atmosphere of belonging and brotherhood. Inspired by this spirit, they formally established Tampa Veterans Football Club, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to charitable, educational, and recreational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Today, the club reflects the diversity and strength of its members, who include veterans, healthcare professionals, teachers, first responders, financial experts, engineers, and community leaders. United both on and off the field, they work together to create opportunities for fellowship, mentorship, and service.

Beyond soccer, the club actively engages in community initiatives—from professional career events to volunteer projects that uplift communities in need. At its heart, Tampa Veterans Football Club is about more than competition—it is about friendship, unity, and giving back. It is the story of how a shared passion for the world’s game became a force for community connection and positive change.
